Why is my certification not passing?

5 days delay

There has to be a delay of 5 days between two certifications. This delay starts with the date of consideration, which means from the moment when the certification is not ‘awaiting to be processed’ anymore. This date is often different from the one that is was issued on.

You can check the date on which your certifications are taken into account on your cesium notifications.

The next certification will be available 5 days from then.
If you’ve given out several certifications, it’s impossible to know which one will pass first.

Be mindful that the lifespan of a certification starts with its issue date. This lifespan is 2 years, that’s to say 730 days and 12 hours. It’s therefore not recommended to give out several certifications at once, as they won’t be taken into account straight away, but they will expire at the same time.

A new member needs 5 certifications

All of these certifications must be available at the same time. If 1 out of the 4 is not available, none will pass. You need to wait for the certifiers to become available.

These certifications must also abide by the distance rule. If the distance rule is not respected with the available certifications, it won’t pass. As a newcomer, to become a G1 co-creator, you must have a file quality above 1 (or above 80%). It's possible to check the quality of a newcomer file on g1-monit. This quality level is called "distance" in the wotwizard website; wotwizard-ui, a very useful tool. In the case your file quality is lower than 1, you need to find more certifiers.

A new member needs to have applied for membership

It’s impossible to certify someone who has only published their identity without having applied for membership. Which means they have only completed the pseudonym field on Cesium. This field is the unique public ID of the person registered onto the Duniter Blockchain.

Usually, the conversion of your simple account into a member account on Cesium will do both the ID publication and the application for membership. Likewise when you create a member account on Cesium, it will do both. Creating a new member account is the recommended approach to take, as this allows the G1 newcomer to create an account with higher security in mind, choosing 2 passwords that are 35-50 characters in length. This helps solidify and secure the entire G1 network, that is connected through the Web of Trust. It's not just ones personal account security, but the entire network. So it's important to take this procedure seriously.

Nodes can be desynchronised

If you see that the application for membership didn’t pass, or if you can’t see the person’s other certifications, maybe you are on a desynchronised node, or maybe these actions have been made on a desynchronised node.

Before anything when using Cesium, it’s important to check that the Duniter and Cesium+ nodes are synchronised. See the tutorial on the discussion forum.
