The Web of Trust is a decentralised system for identity authentification.

Decentralised system for identity authentication

The goal of the Web of Trust is to authenticate all humans co-creating Ğ1 currency.

Only a living human being can be a Ğ1 co-creator; so they must be authenticated as a living human being.

A human being can only become a Ğ1 co-creator if they are authenticated/identified by at least five other Ğ1 co-creators and if they are in line with the Distance Rule of 5 steps. Before this authentication process can occur they must create a new 'member wallet/account', or switch one of their simple wallets into a Ğ1 co-creator wallet.

Authentification through certification

The authentication happens through wallet certification.

When a Ğ1 co-creator can authenticate someone as a unique and living human being, they can certify that persons wallet.

This entails that the Ğ1 co-creator knows this person for real, and is able to recognise them and communicate and connect with them outside of the G1 network.

This certification is only valid for two years (730 days and 12 hours). It can be renewed as many time as you want, or not.

Certification limitations

Each Ğ1 co-creator has an active limit of 100 certifications that they can give out, and can only give out one certification every 5 days.

Each certification is valid for 2 years. These 100 certifications are based on a 'rolling' 2 year system, in that this limit of 100 certifications is the maximum amount any one person can have at any given time, remembering that one's total amount of certifications given out will fluctuate over time, based on the two year time frame being reached for some people at varying times (removing them for one's certification list) and others leaving the web of trust and new people being certified. it's a dynamic system.

Membership

Membership occurs when one creates their new 'member wallet/account' or when someone is switching their simple wallet into a Ğ1 co-creator wallet. (creating a new member account is recommended, instead of converting a simple wallet. As this makes certain that one has created a very secure account, with a strong identifier and password. 35 - 50 characters is recommended for these important phrases. This not only secures ones personally member account, but also helps prevent any ill-intended hacker from gaining access to a member account, and with that, the opportunity to certify others (or their own self created accounts), which would greatly jeopardise the web of trust and the whole G1 network.

To be able to remain a Ğ1 co-creator, you have to renew your membership within a timeline of 365 days and 6 hours from the last renewal date. This is an easy procedure, carried out within one's Ğ1 currency app, currently Cesium is the most used app in the Ğ1 network.
